New Driver Contract

I ____________________________, agree to all of the terms written below for the privilege of driving a family owned vehicle.  I agree to give up any driving privileges if I do not follow these terms.

1. I will be a safe driver by being aware of and following posted speed limits and obey all traffic laws.
2. My parents will know where I am driving, when I will be home and if I will be late coming home.
3. I will not have more than _________passengers in my car.  They must be wearing a seatbelt or I will not drive.  For the first six months of my driving experience, I will not drive friends unless an adult is present.
4. I will never drink and drive.  I will never use illegal drugs and drive, nor will liquor or drugs be in the car at any time.  I will not allow anyone who has been drinking or using illegal drugs in my car.
5. If I were to get a traffic ticket, I will pay for the ticket, as well as the price increases on the insurance premium as long as the higher premium is in effect.
6. Should I be involved in an accident, I will pay for damages that I incur that aren’t covered by insurance, including any deductibles.
7. I will keep the car clean, and pay for gas and maintenance.
8. I will not make calls or text message on my cell phone while driving.  I will pull over to a safe place to answer any calls or texts. 

Thank you for giving me the privilege to driving.  I appreciate the confidence you have in me.  I have read the above agreement and agree to follow these rules.
